Cobra G80 4 Leg Chain Sling Details

Buying a Cobra G80 4 Leg Chain Sling couldn’t be easier at Lifting Gear Store. Each sling can be made up to suit your specific requirements from a choice of popular options. If you can’t see exactly what you are looking for then simply get in touch, we can usually sort out your specific needs.

Your choices include the length of chain up to 10 metres and its link size which pertains to the WLL (working load limit). The main top component will be a master link with two additional links to which two chains will be fitted into each using chain connectors. This is the standard set up for chain slings.

When it comes to the loading end we have 4 main components to choose from.

1: The standard sling hook; this is a popular choice due to its clevis fitting and sprung safety latch.

2: The clevis self locking hook; these are ideal when a larger hook opening is necessary to fit larger slings or other anchor points on the load. They open right up and automatically re-close when the load is attached.

3: The swivel self locking eye hook; a permanent version of the clevis self locking hook with the added benefit of a swivelling eye to enable easier alignment.

4: The Clevis C hook; an open hook without a safety latch.

NOTE: clevis fittings can be removed; eye type fittings cannot.

Chain Shortening

It is possible to shorten the chain legs temporarily with the correct set up. You should never attempt to tie or knot a chain or use any other means to shorten the chain. We can fit eye type shortening grab hooks into the master link (one for each leg) which enables each chain leg to be shortened individually. This method is the only safe way to temporarily shorten chain and has the added benefit of being able to set each leg to different lengths for odd shaped loads. WLL reductions may apply so be sure to check out the safe use documentation above.

More Sling Options

Besides the Cobra grade 80 chain slings which meet BS EN standards we can also supply grade 8 chain slings which wholly comply to BS EN requirements. Flat webbing slings and round slings are other sling options to consider; eye bolts and shackles can also be supplied if you need them.
