About the Cobra G80 3 Leg Chain Sling

Meeting the working load limit requirements of BS EN 818-2 for the chain and BS EN 1677-1/2 or 3 for components you can be assured these slings are up to the task.

The black short link chain makes for easier handling and can be supplied in lengths up to 10 metres. One end of the chain will be fitted with a quad master link which is one main ring and two smaller rings. Using connectors three lengths of chain will be attached; one in one of the links and two in the other. Shortening grab hooks are another option which can be added into the main master link in order to correctly shorten each chain leg should the need arise.

Grade 80 Loading Components

The bottom end of the chain can be terminated with a loading hook or your choice. We have 4 standard options available, however if you need something specific that you can’t find here then please give us a call, we can usually help.

The components consist of 2 types; clevis fittings and eye fittings. Clevis fittings incorporate a bar with a locking pin for security. These can be removed at will, thus you can switch out your component for a different type anytime. Eye type fittings are attached during manufacture and can not be removed.

The options are;

Clevis sling hook with spring loaded safety catch

Clevis self locking hook, these are ideal when a larger opening is required – typically for larger slings or lifting points.

Eye type swivel self locking hook – a permanent version of the clevis self lock hook with a 360 degree swivelling eye for easier positioning.

Clevis C hook, this is an open hook with no safety catch and must be used accordingly.
