Cobra G80 2 Leg Chain Sling Considerations
These cobra grade 80 chain slings meet BS EN requirements but are not thoroughly certified like grade 8 slings.
When choosing your options such as WLL, chain size and length and components you should consider what loads you will be lifting and how you will need to lift them. Chain slings can be used in multiple ways including hitch types like the choke hitch or basket hitch. Multi-leg slings must always be spaced evenly around the centre of gravity, this causes the slings to be set a at an angle rather than straight/vertical.
Different hitches and different angles can each have an effect on the maximum working load limit due to the changing forces applied when used in these ways. You should always consult the manufacturers slinging charts to be sure you are within the respective limits.
