Subsea Load Cell Shackle Features
Although this set up comes complete with the shackle an pin (the intelligent part) the load pin can be used with Crosby and GN shackles, thus can be interchanged.
The subsea load cell shackle takes load measurements via the pin which incorporates the pin head, a central bobbin and securing nut. The face and barrel of the pin are sealed and pressure tested. Whilst in use the load will be seated on the central bobbin, between the shackle eyes. Data is calculated by the pin sensors and processor in the head, then sent via the data cable. The data can be collected and viewed through an existing system set up or a hand held display unit which is available separately. Find more information in the tab above.
The hand held display enables easy viewing of data as well as changing measurement units (kg, ton, tonnes, lbs kN), operating the tare function and more.
This equipment is ideal for a number of applications including subsea mooring, towing subsea vehicles, cable repairs, monitoring, anchor tension and more.
Why use a Subsea Load Cell Shackle
Load monitoring can provide critical information about your load and the forces implied by it, thus ensuring this and other equipment are up to the task. Whilst there are other types of tension load cells available, they are larger, heavier and typically not suitable for these harsh environments.
The load cell shackle is compact and easy to attach, just use it like a normal shackle connector. Take all the guess work out of your subsea lifting operation where visibility will often be minimal. Data is sent straight to the top side for immediate monitoring in real time.
More Subsea Equipment
Alongside this shackle load cell we have a range of subsea hoisting equipment including ratchet lever hoists and chain blocks from William Hacketts and Tiger brands. If you use a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) then we have chain blocks that can be operated by the ROV too.
