Cobra Container Lugs – The Facts

With a minimum breaking load of 4 x the stated 12.5 tonne working load limit per each lug you can be sure of quality and safety. Cobra container lifting lugs can be purchased individually or as a complete set which incorporates 2 left and 2 right fitting lugs (they are different for each side).

Cobra lugs can be used in the top or bottom anchor ports on the long side. (NOT the top or short sides).

For the correct lifting angles to be in place for the most secure lift the lugs should be set at 45 degrees when the attached slings are taught. When used in the bottom ports a top spreader beam will perfect this lifting scenario.

Each container lifting lug is stamped with the necessary information for identification, including WLL, CE mark, Trace code, Steel grade and Manufacturers ID. Certification can also be provided.

You must always follow the manufacturers guidelines when using these container lugs to ensure optimum safety. Port skills and safety (PSS) guidance on container handling is also recommended.
