Tiger UL26 Subsea Lever Hoist New Brake system
Like most Tiger hoists the new UL26 model has the quad pawl ratchet system which is a great safety feature. In the unlikely event that one or even two pawls should break there are two or three more that will still hold the load safely.
In addition to this already unbeatable design Tiger have added even more safety features. The new innovative dual brake system is second to none. The addition of a second, independent brake provides ultimate safety. If is self acting and will be automatically deployed in an emergency directly onto the load sheave. This not only provides protection to the standard brake but also provides protection to the gearbox side.
The new brake system has been rigorously tested and will hold the load if the standard brake fails; the load will be stopped within 300mm.

UL26 Ratchet Lever Hoist Subsea Features
There are many features in the Tiger UL26 design that make it suitable for use in subsea environments. Thanks to the specialist components it can withstand the harsh conditions.
Phosphor bronze bearings, corrosion resistant components, full face cover to protect the brake chamber, marine friction brake discs and a 2 stage finish for optimum protection from briny conditions.
In addition the load sheave bearings use a unique multi layered design. Steel backing with sintered bronze inter layer and impregnated with PTFE. This unique combination makes them ideal for subsea use, providing low friction and thus improved efficiency and extended life. Find out more in the guide above.

This hoist has been specifically designed for ultimate safety when used subsea or in other marine environments. The dual brake system is unlike most other subsea hoists with its self acting second brake, so if you want a safe subsea lifting hoist with significant advantages and over 1500 hours of protection, opt for the UL26.
It passes and exceeds all the relevant safety protocols and comes fully certified. The hoist can be used in a 54 day period for multi immersions providing correct procedures laid out by the manufacturer are followed.
