What is a Roller Crowbar?
A roller crowbar or pry bar is a specialist type of crowbar which is intended to aid in the prying up of large heavy objects such as machinery or cabinets. There are two wheels at the lower end of the bar for easy manoeuvring and a slim levering plate/toe to slide under the load. The longer length enables good leverage for prying up the load.
Roller crowbars are a really useful piece of equipment and work well alongside machine skates.
Using the Viper Roller Crowbar
Our Viper Roller Crowbar rolls smoothly due to the bearings in the steel wheels. The ultra slim lifting toe can be pushed under the load quite easily. Even if there is only a minimal gap. Once in position the handle can be pushed down which in turn will raise the load. The amount of physical effort required is reduced thanks to the long length. The 3 tonne model has a length of 1400mm and the 5 tonne model is longer at 1530mm.
The load will be raised a minimal amount, but usually enough to easily insert machine skates / load moving skates.
These roller pry bars may also be used to re-position loads, moving them slightly a little at a time, although it will depend on the size of the load.
The Viper VRC roller crowbar is easily identifiable with CE mark, capacity, Manufacturers and product ID marks, tracing code and year of manufacture. Certification is available.
Associated Lifting Gear
As mentioned above these roller pry bars are a great addition to your load moving kit, machine skates in particular. We have a couple of options to choose from in this category. The individual Viper VRS machine skates or the Viper VMMS load moving skate kit this is a heavy duty set which includes front and rear skates and a steering handle.
