Heavy Duty Machine Skates Kit Basics

This wheel-able platform kit is perfect for moving heavy and/or awkward machinery, however it can be used for many other types of loads. Cabinets, appliances, furniture, storage chests and more.

There are five load moving skate kits to choose from. Each having a different capacity and consequently a different number of wheels according to the size.

The stated capacity is a combination of what the steerable section and the rear skates can handle.

As an example the starter machine skate kit has total load capacities up to 8 tonne. Split down to 4 tonne for the steerable skate and 2 tonne for each rear skate (2×2=4 tonne). So the kit handles 4 tonne at each end, presuming the skates are positioned correctly at the front and rear of the load. Find the details for the other kits in the specifications above.

Viper VMMS Machine Skate Kit Parts

Let us start with the steerable front section. This is the largest part in the kit and contains the most wheels. It is also where the guiding handle fits to aid with steering and pulling the load.

At the central loading point of the platform you will see a round turntable with a non slip top. This greatly helps to position and turn the skate, thus the load.

The two rear skates are identical and have non slip type platforms. These are equally positioned under the load opposite the steerable front section to attain good stability. There is a connecting bar so that the skates will move in tandem.

All wheels are polyurethane and have ball bearings so will roll smoothly.
