About the WH C4 Manual Chain Hoist
Produced and tested in the UK by William Hackett the WH C4 chain block is well tried and tested and ideal for everyday use. In addition to the traditional straight/vertical lifting techniques the C4 can be used at 45 degree angles to enable fleeting and cross hauling methods to be used in a safe way. This has been independently tested and verified. Chain containers to prevent the chain from hitting the load are available if needed.
Light load capabilities at 2% of the max. WLL are possible.
Key Features of the WH C4 Manual Chain Block
All hooks on the C4 manual chain block incorporate heavy duty safety catches and a 360 swivel for easier alignment. The hooks also have overload indicator points at the hook throat. This means you can easily see if the hoist has been overloaded and thus should not be used.
The hooks are secures in housing secured by the robust socket head cap screws, hex bolts and nyloc insert locking nuts. These fittings enable complete inspection of the chain hoist.
Twin pawls are featured in the WH C4 chain block, however there is now the C4 QP model which supersedes this model as it has quad pawls for even better safety.
The WH C4 incorporates a rather unique hand chain joiner which can be used to quickly join the hand chain safely.
The load chain complies to BS EN818-7 grade T(8), and an overload limiter is available on request.
Operating the hoist, once anchored, is really straightforward; simply pull the hand chain clockwise to lift and counter clockwise to lower. The reduction gears give a mechanical advantage and enable a single operator to lift a heavy load without too much physical strain.
