Restraint Harness and Lanyard Kit Components
Our restraint kit is ideal for work positioning tasks.
There are three key components in this height safety restraint kit The harness, the lanyard and the holdall bag. Lifting Gear Store only supply Kratos safety equipment so you can be assured of high quality products.
The Safety Harness
This full body harness incorporates adjustable thigh, shoulder and chest straps, thus can be adjusted to fit the wearer comfortably. There is a maximum user weight on this harness which is set at 140kg.
Full body safety harnesses can seem like a mass of straps at first, but with the Kratos harnesses the shoulder and leg straps use a different colour/patterned webbing so they are easier to differentiate. Its purpose is to make the harness quicker to put on correctly; your legs go through the plain black loops and the striped straps go over the shoulders.
In addition you will find an extra strap roughly between the leg straps. This is called a sitting strap and it passes under the buttocks to make the wearer more comfortable and reduce pressure on the thighs in the event of a fall.
The Lanyard
The Kratos polyester webbing lanyard is 30mm wide and 2 metres long. Should you need a shorter lanyard then you can quite easily adjust this one to suit your needs. Perfect for work positioning, thus restricting your movement so that you can not fall off dangerous precipices.
The steel fittings at each end of the safety harness lanyard are different. One end has a carabiner which incorporates a screwing lock for optimal safety. This fitting connects to the ‘D’ ring on your harness.
The other end of the lanyard has a snap hook made from steel for optimum strength. Two actions are needed to open the gate so safety is optimised. The gate opening measurement is 18mm, so ensure it will connect to your intended anchoring point.
The Carry Bag
Each restraint harness and lanyard kit comes with its own carry bag which could be either a hold all type or a rucksack type. The bags are robust and ideal for keeping your kit together and easily accessible at all times. Another intention for these bags are that they will help to keep your safety kit away from potential hazards which could damage your kit, for example sharp objects. They are also a good way to keep your kit cleaner.
