The Rapide Aluminium Gantry System

Our most compact aluminium gantry the Rapide comes in three variations with differing load capacities, standard with a maximum 500kg, medium with a maximum 400kg and tall with a maximum 250kg capacity. If used for fall arrest scenarios the SWL will be lower. Please refer to the specifications on the Rapide product page above.

Each model is height adjustable and is available with a range of top beam lengths to suit a variety of lifting tasks. Fall arrest tasks can also be carried out with the rapide as long as certain criteria is met.

Rapide Aluminium Gantry Features

Fully foldable to a compact size the Rapide is easy to erect. Push in pins are used to lock each part into position so its quick and easy, plus no additional tools are required.

When fully folded the framework incorporates wheels so that the gantry can be pushed around single handedly to where it is needed.

When erected the gantry can be moved around on its swivelling castors positioned on each A frame leg. The castors have brakes so unwanted movement is easily preventable.

Rapide Lifting Gantry Options

The Rapide lifting gantry has a number of options to choose from, thus getting the right set up for your needs should be straightforward.

Firstly you can choose from a range of sizes, When it comes to the height there are standard, medium and tall options each giving you a different range of adjustability. Each Rapide aluminium gantry can be adjusted in height, there are three height options as well as a 100mm foot adjustment.

The width or span will be determined by the choice of top beam length, choices are 2m, 2.3m, 3m and 4m.

We have a choice of trolleys too, the standard masterlink trolley (ideal when headroom or clearance is not an issue, large opening masterlink for easy attachment of a hoist) a close coupled trolley (ideal if you need more headroom or under beam clearance and can be fitted after gantry set up) or a sheave carrier ( to enable the use of winches or fall arrest devices).

Additional options include a sheave and pin set to enable winch attachment to the trap plate on the vertical column. Winch brackets are also an available option and enable the fitting of winches or fall arrest blocks to the outside A frame plate.

Benefits and Uses of the Rapide Gantry

To reiterate the above, this is the easiest and quickest lifting gantry to use and set up by just one person, although two would be easier for the larger options. They are ATEX certified, so can be used in some hazardous environments. Transportation and storage is straight forward thanks to the innovative folding design and wheels for moving around. Hoisting equipment is easy to attach to your chosen trolley.

The Rapide gantry system is perfect for lifting tasks when out in the field, however they are also commonly used in fall arrest scenarios, such as lowering a person into a tight space. Therefore they are commonly used by waste and water industries and other utilities. Other areas of use include rescue operations, automotive industries, stone masons, confined space access scenarios and other material handling tasks.

Maintenance

The maintenance required when it comes to aluminium gantries are pretty minimal. Check before each use ensuring all parts are sound and pins/bolts etc. are securely located. Thorough inspections should be undertaken annually or more frequently depending on use; checking for damaged parts, look out for cracks, corrosion, dents, bent parts, missing parts, and wheel locks engage securely.
Portable aluminium gantry cranes should be kept clean and castors lubricated periodically. Cleaning an aluminium lifting gantry is as easy as washing a car. A bucket of soapy water and a brush or sponge will do the trick
