Manual Furniture Mover Details
Unlike the hydraulic version (FM180) this model uses a manual wind up system rather than hydraulics. Supplied with two frames, there is a crank handle on each, enabling each side of the load to be raised little by little in tandem. Up to 300mm in height can be reached; just enough to enable the load to be moved around freely on the125mm polyurethane swivel castors.
There are three areas which help to support the load. Firstly the lower base plate which slips underneath the load and measures 225mm x 120mm. This is the section that raises the load and incorporates a non slip covering for optimum safety. The other two supporting sections are rubber covered support bars located at the upper and lower end, the upper ones being more padded. These provide a resting point for the load to provide support during transportation whilst offering protection against damage.
When your load is positioned on the load moving frames they need to be connected together so they move in tandem. A 5 meter securing strap with buckle is supplied and can be wrapped around both frames and the load to secure tightly together. Now the movers and load can be carefully moved to the desired location.
Other types of Load Moving Equipment
Besides the furniture movers seen here or the hydraulic version Lifting Gear Store also supplies a range of load / machine moving skates which are designed to slip under the load to move around. These generally have no framework although some models include a long handle for easier steering. Additional ratchet straps are also available to add extra load safety if required.
