Long Shank Dynamo Eye Bolts Details

These eye bolts are available in two popular thread types to suit different requirements. Metric threading accommodates modern international standards, while BSW (British Standard Whitworth) threading serves older traditional applications.

These eye bolts are specifically designed for vertical lifts only. This directional limitation is crucial for maintaining the safety factor and load ratings. Angular or side loading dramatically reduces working loads and can compromise safety, so always ensure loads are applied directly along the vertical axis of the eye bolt.

Load Capacities and Sizes

The modern metric long shank dynamo eye bolts are available to buy online and come in 6 different SWL (safe working loads). The lowest has a 0.15 ton capacity and the largest has a 2 ton capacity. The all important thread diameter starts at 8mm and extends up to 24mm. When it comes to shank length it can be between 100mm and 127mm depending on the size chosen. The older BSW Whit style of these long shank dynamo eye bolts has 5 size options. Starting at 0.25 ton SWL with a 3/8 inch thread diameter, increasing to the largest 2.2 ton with a 1 inch thread diameter.

Dynamo Eye Bolt Materials, Safety & Standards

Manufactured from high tensile steel with a self colour finish as standard (zinc plated on request) these dynamo eye bolts have a safety factor equalling 5 times the stated safe working load; or MBL=5x SWL – this in the minimum breaking load and is to provide assurance of strength and large safety margins in case of unexpected load variations only. Always stick within the marked SWL.
