High Tensile Eye Nuts – Metric & BSW Size Range
High tensile eye nuts are manufactured in two measurement systems to meet global requirements. Metric sizes are available up to 2.2 tonnes with a maximum thread diameter of 24mm. These metric specifications conform to international standards and integrate seamlessly with modern fastening systems.
Additionally, BSW (British Standard Whitworth) sizes are available up to 44 CWTs (hundredweight) with a maximum thread diameter of 1 inch, catering to traditional imperial measurement systems and equipment. Note; 44 CWT is equivalent to 2.2 tonne
This dual-sizing ensures compatibility with more modern, metric equipment and international applications, or older imperial specifications.
Eye Nut Materials & Safety
These eye nuts are made from high tensile steel and are supplied in their self colour as standard. However is you would like better corrosion protection then we can supply electro-galvanized versions.
When it comes to safety these eye nuts will be supplied with an EC declaration of conformity to show they are compliant with EU regulations. Additionally our eye nuts have a safety factor of 5, thus the minimum breaking load = 5 x WLL. For example, if an eye nut has a Working Load Limit of 1,000 kilograms, its Minimum Breaking Load would be 5,000 kilograms. This substantial safety margin is deliberately built into every component to provide comprehensive protection against unexpected stresses. With this in mind it should be noted that you must never intentionally exceed the stated WLL.
Different Eye Nuts & Eye Bolts
There are numerous types of eye nuts and eye bolts on the market today not all are suitable for lifting applications so be careful!
Lifting Gear Store offers mostly tested and certified lifting points, however there are a couple of untested models, typically the stainless steel models, thus be sure to check the details fully.
Our range incorporates eye and bow nuts, collared eye bolts, dynamo eye bolts, long shank eye bolts and bolts with a moveable link for better angles lifting tasks. Steel, grade 8 steel, high tensile steel and stainless steel options are available and you will find most models have a choice of metric or BSW Whitworth measuring systems.
