About High Tensile Bow Nuts – Whitworth
Whitworth standards are one of the older British standard forms of measuring and ensures all threads labelled as Whitworth (sometimes known as BS Whit) will work together seamlessly.
Unlike typical eye bolts, these bow nuts have a threaded hole rather than a threaded shank. This enables the bow nut to be fitted to a threaded bolt of the same type and diameter to form a secure anchor point.
These BS Whitworth bow nuts come as self-coloured as standard although we can supply electro galvanized bow nuts if required. They all have a minimum breaking load of five times the WLL so are extremely robust. Suitable for lifting at some angles but may require a reduction in the WLL so be sure to consult the manufacturers instructions for the pertinent details.
Other Bow Nuts & Eye Bolts
Lifting gear Store can supply bow nuts with metric threads as well as an extensive collection of eye bolts both collared and dynamo. You will also find a choice of long shank eye bolts with some having reevable links for easier load connections at an angle. Stainless steel options are also available, however not all are suitable for lifting purposes, so be sure to check the details carefully.
