Gin Wheel Specifics
Our steel gin wheel incorporates a 250mm or 10 inch wheel with a groove around the edge where the rope sits. The framework also has rope guides to ensure the rope stays in place and does not come out of the grooved wheel.
At the top there is a swivel eye which makes anchoring quick and easy. To use simply attach to a suitable anchoring point. Thread a ¾ inch rope up through the rope guide on one side, over the top of the wheel in the recess and through the second rope guide. Attach the hooked end of the rope securely to your load ensuring it is secure and well balanced. Now pull the free end of the rope and watch your load lift.
Guide your load slowly and with care. Good knotting skills are important, especially if you need to tie of the load mid way.
There are many safety precautions to take prior to using a gin wheel, the basics can be found on the main gin wheel and rope category page.
Lifting Products for Building Sites
Gin wheels can be used in unlimited areas as they are easy to transport and utilise. However they are commonly found in use on building sites for handling tools and building materials. Scaffold hoists are another lifting option for construction jobs. These are powered hoisting devices that attach to scaffold poles and lift loads at the touch of a button.
