Delta Hydraulic Bottle Jack Basics

These hydraulic jacks are a compact piece of lifting gear with the smallest model standing (closed height) at just 158mm high. The largest models stand at only 200mm high. Maximum lifting heights (open height) the bottle jacks are capable of are an additional 140mm to 185mm respectively on top of the bottles height. The main body (the bottle) sits on a wider base which offers excellent stability. However it is worth noting they are designed to be used on flat, stable ground for optimum safety. You do not want the jack to tilt during use!

Delta Hydraulic Jack Features

There are multiple features on the Delta bottle jack considering the simplistic look of the product. You can find out what each part is called and where it is located on the parts drawing in the specifications. The main features are the hydraulic cylinder and hydraulic fluid chamber. In simple terms the lever is cranked to pump a plunger into the fluid. Thus causing it to flow into the main cylinder to push up the piston rod and subsequently the lifting saddle. There is also a drain valve to allow the hydraulic fluid back into the main fluid chamber (the starting point). This releases pressure on the piston rod and lowering the saddle.

Uses of the Delta Bottle Jack

This type of hydraulic jack can be utilised for a lot of different tasks. They are often used for lifting machinery or other industrial equipment, however they are most commonly used for jacking up vehicles. From small cars to lorries and even tractors, in fact with their high lifting capacities most vehicles can be raised up. More than one bottle jack can be utilised for better vehicle stability, this is especially prudent for larger vehicles.
Bottle jacks in general can also be used for things like pipe bending, rescue operations and more. In fact anything that needs to be lifted vertically a small amount and there is enough room underneath to insert the jack.
