Bow Nuts – Metric Thread Details
Suitable for use in lifting applications these metric threaded bow nuts come in their self colour as standard because they have not undergone any galvanization process. This makes them best suited to indoor applications. However, should you prefer better corrosion protection then we can supply electro-galvanized bow nuts to the same specifications as the standard variety. Simply get In touch to request this option.
Electro-galvanizing also known as electro-plating or zinc plating uses an electric current to apply a thin layer of zinc (typically between 0.005 & 0.025mm) to offer good corrosion protection, although not quite as good as hot dip galvanization (typically above 1.0mm).
Self-Coloured Bow Nuts Specifics
These self coloured bow nuts come in WLL from 0.23 tonne up to 5.34 tonne and a range of thread sized from M8 to M36. The standardised metric thread ensures precise fitment and compatibility with other metric spec threads thanks to the consistency in the thread pitch and diameter tolerances.
Although they can be used for lifting at some angles the specifications here are shown for straight lifts. Angles lifting usually means a reduction in the WLL so always consult manufacturer’s instructions.
With a minimum breaking load of 5 x the stated WLL you can be assured of high strength.
More lifting points
The ever expanding range of lifting points at Lifting Gear Store includes many other Metric threaded models including long-shank variations, collared eyebolts and dynamo eye bolts. BSW Whit (British Standard Whitworth) threaded models are also available in a similar array of variations.
Swivel eyebolts are another lifting point to consider, especially for angled lifting tasks because they can’t twist loose and fall out.
