Solar Panel Bag Design
The overall design of our solar panel bag is quite simple, however it achieves what it set out to do. It provides a safe and easy method of solar panel lifting to roof tops. Also offering protection from damage, keeps panels safe during lifting and reduces physical effort, whilst minimising injury risk.
The panel bag is manufactured in the UK from a single piece of super high tenacity materials. With a tensile strength at 400-380DAN you can be sure of quality, strength and in turn, optimum safety.
Measuring up at 220mm in length by 1200mm tall these lifting bags have open sides as well as the open top. This enables your panels to be slid into place easily but more importantly, off-loading is quick and easy too.
Straps that are secured with a heavy velcro fastening are positioned around the open edges, thus securing your load during lifting. When you are ready to unload, simply pull open the straps and fold the sides out flat to the ground if needed. Your solar panel can be removed without hindrance.
A softly padded foam material covers the entire inner surface, as a result your panels will be protected from scratches and other damage.
Our solar panel bags come in a light blue as standard. We keep these in stock! However if you would like another colour please ask, we can get these made up for you. The same goes if you need a bag with different dimensions, please get in touch with the Lifting Gear Store Sales Team..
Handling Solar Panel Lifting Bags
There are two handles on each side at the top, these make the bag easier to handle. In the centre position you will find the double lifting sling which passes under the bag for optimum strength. 200Kg is the maximum safe working load.
The slings come together at the top, and are terminated with a steel lifting eye. The lifting eye is used to attach the bag and load to the loading hook of your hoist. Due to its careful positioning at the gravities centre the load should be stable, providing the bag is loaded correctly.
For additional safety there are a couple of small ‘D’ rings on either side. They are centrally positioned and are ideal for attaching tag lines. A tag line is a long length of rope attached to the load and controlled from the ground. The person holding the tag line is able to apply tension by pulling on the rope in order to guide the solar panel lifting bag away from any obstacles. This method also enables the controller to prevent the load from swinging.
Solar Panel Bag Uses
Our solar panel bags can be used to lift other types of panels, for example radiators, smaller window frames, plywood sheets, plasterboard and more. Thanks to the open sides, if there are protrusions on your load, such as a radiator valve, then they can extend out from the sides if necessary.
You will typically see these lifting bags around construction sites and wherever solar panels are being installed. They provide a safe and cost effective means of panel handling.
